The Not Wasted series reinvests the use of materials in what a workshop already has: waste.
Considering this source as a resource means reducing the use of raw materials in the manufacture of objects and thus reducing their extraction. Through the concept of reuse, a zero waste conception of the object.
Analysis of each stage in the cycle as a problem arising from a social and economic operating mode. The circular workshop aims to minimise the environmental impact of a production cycle by reducing the extraction of raw materials through the reuse of waste created during manufacture.
Each object has a solid wood structure. This structure has a number of advantages, including giving the object structure by providing mechanical support and holding the joints together. The combination of solid wood and wood shavings makes it easy to see where the recycled material comes from.
Using the wood shavings available in the workshop, we created a material called Agglomera, a mixture of wood shavings and starch glue, which is modelled onto a sculpted wooden structure.
This method invites us to think about the object in terms of the non-existent, the void, a material that is not yet there.

Part of a research into the materiality of organic materials and the imaginaries they can open up.
NOT WASTED proposed an approach based on a tri-material approach, which in essence implies the idea of a cycle within the object: in other words, each stage in the transformation of matter is symbiotic within the same object.
In this way, it questions the use of our resources, an approach that allows us to reposition ourselves in the light of contemporary production methods and the urgent need to re-localise the manufacture of objects close to the earth, with links to the local area.
The series of objects in the NOT WASTED collection asks the following question, through a series of manifesto objects: How can an object, through its materiality, awaken an ecological awareness in its user?
NOT WASTED series has been presented during "From trash to treasure" exhibition at Objects with Narratives gallery in 2024,
